20-Year-Old Killed in Cathedral City Crash

A 20-year-old driver was killed in a single-car crash in Cathedral City Sunday night. The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Landau Boulevard near Tachevah Drive. According to Cathedral City police, the car was traveling at high speed when it crashed into a tree.

The driver died from his injuries. There was no one else in the vehicle at the time. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the fatal collision. Southbound Landau was closed from Tachevah Drive to 30th Avenue while the scene was investigated.

The driver’s identity has not yet been released. The Cathedral City Police Department reminded drivers in a Facebook post about the dangers of driving while impaired, and urged people to celebrate responsibly.
