CARFAX Issues A Warning

If you’re gearing up for holiday travel, CARFAX has a serious message for you: make sure you check online for any recalls that may include your vehicle before driving. It’s no secret that driving patterns have tapered off somewhat during the pandemic. Because of this, some drivers may not be as aware of factors affecting the safety of their vehicle as they were previously. Unfortunately, a growing number of airbag recalls in the United States, now affecting almost 16 million vehicles, could create a lethal risk for some drivers and passengers.

The Takata recall, made infamous for its size and scope, continues to be an issue for many American drivers. So far, 18 drivers have already been killed by these faulty airbags, which have been found to unexpectedly explode. Over 250 have been injured. According to CARFAX, there are over 55 million vehicles on the road in America today which have an open recall, many of which include defective Takata airbags.

Please take this opportunity to plan ahead for your road trip and use the free CARFAX recall tool to determine if your vehicle needs to be checked.
