One person was hospitalized after a big rig crash on eastbound I-10 in Cathedral City Friday night. The crash occurred at 9:34 p.m. just west of the Bob Hope exit. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a SigAlert, as the crashed vehicles were blocking the eastbound lanes.
The scene was cleared around 12:22 a.m. The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered unknown injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver’s condition is unknown.
Just one day before, another big rig crashed on eastbound I-10. That crash resulted in the death of the driver of the other vehicle. As is almost always the case, the victim of both of these big rig crashes was the driver of the other vehicle.
“The number of big rigs on I-10 has increased by 37% since 2013. It’s no surprise that we are seeing so many collisions involving these vehicles. Lawmakers need to start addressing this issue,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
