A vehicle rear-ended a parked bus in Victorville in December, injuring two people. Police say the Victor Valley Transit bus was parked on La Mesa Road loading passengers at the bus stop when it was rear-ended by an eastbound Honda Civic. The collision happened around 12:30 p.m. near King Canyon Road.
The impact sent the Civic spinning. It came to rest in the center turning lane. An ambulance took the driver to the hospital for his injuries. The passenger in the Civic was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The bus was carrying around 15 occupants when it was rear-ended. Some of the occupants complained of minor pains. One passenger required hospitalization for unspecified injuries.
Vehicle was Speeding Prior to Hitting Parked Bus
Authorities say the Civic was traveling at unsafe speeds when it struck the parked bus. Police shut down La Mesa Road from Del Gado Road to King Canyon Road for about an hour following the accident.
“Drivers need to slow down and give the road their full attention. Hopefully this accident didn’t cause anyone serious injuries,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
