A Morongo Valley woman is dead following a high speed crash on Highway 62 last month. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials say the driver of a Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Highway 62 when she crashed into a vehicle near Park Avenue.
The driver fled the scene of the crash and headed north on Highway 62. She was then involved in a collision with an eastbound Jeep. The Jeep was traveling around 60 mph when the crash occurred. First responders rushed the Corolla driver to Desert Regional Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.
The three occupants of the Jeep, including a toddler, were not hurt in the high speed crash. CHP investigators say alcohol or drugs might have been a factor. The accident remains under investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the family who lost a loved one in this crash. We are just thankful no one else was hurt,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
