Father Saves Toddler from Near-Drowning in Apple Valley

A toddler survived a near-drowning in Apple Valley Wednesday morning. Emergency personnel responded to the scene on the 13200 block of Yakima Road around 9 a.m. According to authorities, the 2-year-old boy had fallen into the shallow end of the pool at his home while his father was doing yard work. The father jumped in and rescued the child and called 911.

When Apple Valley Fire Protection District arrived, the boy was responsive and breathing. As a precaution, the boy was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center for treatment.
