Frito-Lay Initiates Recall

Frito-Lay Initiates Recall

On Tuesday, food manufacturing giant Frito-Lay issued a voluntary recall on their popular Barbecue-flavored potato chips. Citing undeclared milk ingredients in the product, Frito-Lay has explained that individuals may experience unexpected allergic reactions due to the discrepancy in the packaging and, interestingly enough, the fact that several bags of the Barbecue chips had actually been filled with a different flavor of Frito-Lay potato chips. The FDA has stated that individuals with severe food allergies who accidentally consume these chips may experience potentially life-threatening effects.

Although Frito-Lay chips can be found across the country, this current recall only covers products sold in 11 states, including California, Arizona, Hawaii and others. The affected chips can also be found in some Frito-Lay variety packs.  More information about the recall can be found here.
