Young Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Victorville
A young pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a Victorville collision Friday afternoon. The pedestrian crash occurred on Village Drive near Puesta Del Sol Drive just after 1 p.m. According to Sheriff’s officials, an 11-year-old boy was walking home after school Friday when he ran across Village Drive, directly in the path of a northbound Honda Accord. The vehicle then struck the boy in the No. 1 lane.
Young Pedestrian in Critical Condition
The Accord driver, Raul Martinez, stopped and called the police. An ambulance transported the young pedestrian to Loma Linda University Medical Center with major injuries. He was still in critical condition as of Friday night.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the pedestrian crash. Police shut down Village Drive from Puesta Del Sol Drive to Eto Camino Road for several hours during the investigation.
“We hope this young man recovers from this accident swiftly. Parents, please make the effort to teach your children about pedestrian safety,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
