BMW Crashes into Brick Landscaping Box

A driver crashed into a brick landscaping box outside a Palm Springs deli Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. outside of Larry’s Wine, Spirits & Deli on North Palm Canyon Drive and Yorba Road.

Police say a BMW 328 traveling south on North Palm Canyon struck a curb in front of the deli. It crashed through the landscaping and landed on its side between a tree and the landscaping box.

The store manager at Larry’s Wine, Spirits & Deli says he heard the brakes slam and two loud booms when the crash occurred. When police arrived, they closed southbound North Palm Canyon for an hour to clear the scene.

Police have not released information about the driver’s condition. However, the deli manager verified that no customers were injured.

“Earlier this week, a driver hit a curb and fatally struck a 16-year-old in Adelanto. Fortunately this crash did not result in anything as serious, but this unsafe driving behavior is an issue.
