CHP Investigating Two I-15 Crashes

Four vehicles were involved in two separate I-15 crashes on Tuesday afternoon. The first crash happened on southbound I-15 south of Main Street around 12:39 p.m. The details of the crash are unknown, but California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived to find a gold Chevy SUV overturned on the freeway shoulder. A black Mini Countryman with passenger side damage was also stopped at the shoulder. There were no injuries reported.

A second crash occurred at 4:50 p.m., this time on northbound I-15. A passenger was extricated from a vehicle after crashing into a tractor trailer. According to the CHP, 23-year-old Jagpreet Randhawa was driving a Lexus IS250 on the D street onramp when she began to merge and struck the bumper of the tractor trailer. The Lexus continued to travel across all the I-15 lanes. It crashed into the center median wall and rebounded into the side of the tractor trailer.

The front seat passenger in the Lexus was injured in the crash. Firefighters extricated the passenger, 38-year-old Sylvia Cordero, from the car. She was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.

The No. 4 lane was closed for 30 minutes following the crash. Victorville CHP are still investigating the collision.

“Drivers need to pay close attention when traveling at high speeds on the freeway, especially when merging or changing lanes,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
