Drunk Driver Causes Multiple Collisions

A drunk driver led officers on a pursuit in December after she ran a red light, causing multiple collisions. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Hesperia Station, the driver of a Honda Civic ran a red light on Escondido Avenue around 6 p.m. The Honda crashed into a Hesperia Recreation and Park ranger’s vehicle, as well as a few other vehicles. The driver, 35-year-old Jennifer Salcido, then attempted to flee the scene.

Drunk Driver Charged with DUI

The ranger pursued the suspect, who stopped at the intersection of Main Street and Topaz Road. Sheriff’s deputies then arrested Salcido and booked her at High Desert Detention Center. She faces charges of felony evading and driving under the influence.

A witness reports the Honda ran several red lights before causing the multiple collisions.

“We’re thankful this incident didn’t result in serious injuries. Let’s hope a conviction will keep this suspect from getting behind the wheel for a very long time,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
