Early Morning Crash Kills Victorville Motorcyclist

A motorcyclist died in an early morning crash Saturday in Victorville. The fatal motorcycle crash occurred at 3 a.m. near the Nisqualli Road and Cypress Avenue intersection.

According to the Victorville Sheriff’s Department, 32-year-old Richard Rosas of Victorville was traveling west on Nisqualli on his Harley Davidson in the No. 1 lane. The driver of a Dodge Ram, 20-year-old Daniel Velasquez of Victorville, was traveling west in the center lane when he attempted to merge into the No 1. Lane in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then crashed into the back of the pickup truck.

Rosas died at the scene. The driver of the Ram did not suffer any injuries.

Fatal Early Morning Crash Under Investigation

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Victorville Police Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is handling the investigation. Anyone with information should contact the Victorville Police Station at (760) 241-2911.
