Hesperia Head-on Collision Injures 3

Three people were airlifted after a head-on collision in Hesperia last month. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Hesperia Station, a Toyota Camry traveling north on Peach Avenue crossed into the southbound lane around 3:26 p.m. The Toyota then struck a southbound Chevrolet sedan head-on. The crash occurred near the Centennial Street intersection.

Firefighters extricated the driver of the Toyota, a 50-year-old female, and her 17-year-old daughter, from the vehicle. The Chevy driver also required extrication. All three were airlifted to trauma centers for major injuries.

Police then closed Peach Avenue in both directions for several hours for the investigation. The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station is still determining the cause of the head-on collision.

What Causes Head-on Collisions?

Police do not know why the Toyota driver crossed into opposing traffic. Common causes of head-on crashes include speeding, driving under the influence, distracted driving, unsafe passing and drowsy driving.

“These major head-on crashes are out of control. We hope everyone hurt in this collision make a full recovery,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
