Man Dies 4 Days After Banning Plane Crash

The Patton man involved in a Banning plane crash last week passed away from his injuries Tuesday. Authorities have identified the man as 87-year-old Stanley Cleveck. Cleveck was one of two people in a small Cessna 150 aircraft that crashed last Friday. The plane went down John Street and Hargrave Street, just south of I-10, in Banning, around 11:45 a.m. The Cessna then crashed into a tree.

The other occupant of the plane suffered moderate injuries. Both occupants were taken to the hospital after the crash. Cleveck died of his injuries at Desert Regional Medical Center Tuesday night.

Federal Organizations Investigating Banning Plane Crash

Authorities have not reported which occupant was piloting the plane. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the Banning plane crash.

“Our condolences go out to Mr. Cleveck’s family and friends. Unfortunately, like with other recreational hobbies, flying a plane carries its safety risks,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
