Police Seek Hit-and-Run Suspect who Caused Fatal Crash

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials are enlisting the public’s help in finding a hit-and-run suspect who caused a fatal crash early Saturday morning in Wildomar.  The CHP has released an “Attempt to Identify” bulletin with two images of the suspect. The images were obtained from surveillance footage from a convenience store the suspect stopped at 15 minutes prior to the crash.

Police say the driver of a black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading northbound on I-15 south of Clinton Keith Road when it left the roadway and overturned down an embankment around 3:45 a.m. Five out of the eight SUV occupants were ejected during the crash. Police say the driver was the only one wearing a seatbelt, and he immediately fled the scene. All seven of the passengers suffered injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment. A 22-year-old male was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

The hit-and-run suspect is described as a Hispanic male with black hair, approximately 150 pounds and 5’10” tall. The Tahoe’s license plate number is 6VDP296. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the CHP at (951) 506-2000.

“A man lost his life because of this driver’s actions. We hope authorities are able to find the suspect soon and hold him responsible for this crime,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
