An Adelanto man was killed in a fatal wrong-way crash in Hesperia last month. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team, a silver Chevrolet Cruze was traveling south on Highway 395 when the driver drifted into the northbound lane, crashing head-on into a gray Honda Accord.

The wrong-way crash happened at 9:42 p.m. just south of Main Street. The driver of the Honda, 41-year-old David Dubon, died at the scene. The Chevrolet driver was extricated from his vehicle and airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Both vehicles sustained major damage in the crash.

Police are looking for a white Honda sedan that may have been involved in the crash. Witnesses have reported they saw the vehicle racing with the Chevrolet driver prior to the accident. The driver allegedly fled the scene. Anyone with information on this other driver should contact the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station at (760) 947-2911.

“If the drivers that caused this deadly crash were racing, we truly hope they are brought to justice. Street racing is a reckless activity that puts innocent people in danger. Our prayers are with the victim’s family during this difficult time,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
