Suspect in Fatal Collision Accused of Drugged Driving

Authorities arrested a man who caused a fatal collision in Palm Springs last month. According to Palm Springs police, 50-year old Robert Garcia Jr. was under the influence of drugs when he crashed his sedan into an SUV around 5:50 p.m.

Garcia was driving south on Sunrise Way when he turned left on Amado Road in front of an oncoming SUV. Garcia’s passenger, 39-year-old Keyon Parks, died at the scene. A second passenger in the sedan suffered major injuries. Two occupants of the SUV also sustained moderate injuries. All three were rushed to the hospital after the crash.
