Teen Pedestrian Killed in Adelanto

A teen pedestrian sustained fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Adelanto Wednesday evening. Trent Scott, a 16-year-old Adelanto High School student was walking in front of Columbia Middle School with his younger sister around 5:30 p.m. The driver of a Nissan Altima apparently jumped the curb and struck the teen.

An employee of the school says he stayed with the boy until paramedics arrived. The witness says the crash impact sent the victim into the air, and he sustained a head injury.

Authorities arrived and determined the victim sustained life-threatening injuries. Fighters called for an airship to transport the unresponsive victim to the hospital. However, they had to cancel the flight when the victim went into cardiac arrest.

An ambulance transported the victim to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

Teen Pedestrian was with Sister when Crash Occurred

Family members say the victim was walking his younger sister to cheerleading practice when the accident occurred. So far, investigators have not reported whether the driver will face any charges.
