Two Hurt in Victorville Freeway Collision

Two people were hurt in a freeway collision in Victorville Sunday afternoon. The crash was reported at 12:19 p.m. on the southbound 15 Freeway, south of Bear Valley Road.

According to a witness, the pickup truck was stopped on the shoulder while the driver was retrieving something from the back of his vehicle. The Impala driver then lost control and veered off the freeway, crashing into the truck. One person was seriously injured and taken to Desert Valley Hospital. A second person was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

The No. 3 lane of I-15 was blocked by the vehicles following the freeway collision. Traffic was backed up until Mojave Drive for hours while police investigated.

“According to witness reports, the truck driver is lucky to be alive. The freeway shoulder is there for emergency stopping, but you are still taking on a risk by getting out of your vehicle there. If you have to stop on the shoulder, it’s much safer to remain in your vehicle while you await emergency assistance,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
