Was Victim of Victorville Pedestrian Accident Using a Crosswalk?

A man was airlifted after he was struck in a pedestrian accident in Victorville Thursday morning. The collision happened around 6:18 a.m. on Bear Valley Road near Seventh Avenue.

Police say the driver of a Nissan pickup truck was heading west on Bear Valley Road when he struck the male pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered major injuries, including head injuries, in the crash. Mercy Air 2 arrived at 6:41 a.m. to airlift the pedestrian to Loma Linda University Medical Center. The pickup truck driver, a 32-year-old man, was not hurt in the accident.

The pedestrian was allegedly wearing dark clothing and was not using a crosswalk to cross the street. The driver was unable to stop his vehicle in time before colliding with the pedestrian.

The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into the cause of the pedestrian accident. Westbound Bear Valley Road was closed at Seventh Avenue for roughly three hours following the incident.

“We’re praying the victim recovers quickly from his injuries. These accidents are the reason we constantly stress the importance of using crosswalks and practicing other safe pedestrian habits,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
