Victorville Woman Killed in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

A Victorville woman was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run Friday night. Police say the driver of a maroon sedan fatally struck the victim, 63-year-old Christine Acuna, at the intersection of 7th Street and Lorene Avenue around 7:15 p.m.

The driver then fled the scene. Some time later, police found a vehicle matching the description parked outside a liquor store at Mojave Drive and Pamela Avenue. Police could not confirm whether a suspect was arrested.

Acuna was awake and responsive when authorities arrived. Emergency responders attempted life-saving procedures. Authorities then rushed the victim to Victor Valley Global Medical Center, where she died from her injuries at 9:19 p.m.

Police shut down 7th Street from East Sage Road to Lorene Drive for several hours. The investigation is ongoing. If you have information about the pedestrian hit-and-run, contact the Victorville Sheriff’s Station at (760) 241-1191.
