A woman and dog were killed in a one-car crash on I-15 near Baker on Thursday. The woman was driving north in a Honda Accord near mile marker 145 when her vehicle crossed over the right shoulder and into the desert. The vehicle went airborne and landed in a dirt embankment.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to the scene around 6:20 a.m. and pronounced the driver and her dog dead. It is unclear what time the one-car crash actually occurred, and authorities say the vehicle may have been there a while before it was reported.
The crash is still under investigation, but drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors. If anyone has information about the accident, they are encouraged to call the CHP at (760) 255-8700.
“We’re saddened to hear about this tragedy. If you have any information or if you witnessed the accident, please report it to the CHP,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
