Palm Springs Hit-and-Run Suspect is an Early Release Felon

Police arrested a hit-and-run suspect last month after he led them on a pursuit in Palm Springs. The suspect, 24-year-old Nicholas Young, was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen by the owner. Deputies noticed the vehicle in the area of South and East Palm Canyon Drive and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect fled, leading the officers on a pursuit.

Less than a mile away, the driver struck a curb and jumped out of the vehicle. He then led police on a short foot chase before he was taken into custody.

Young was found in possession of a loaded 9 mm handgun. The suspect is an early release felon who is also wanted for a hit-and-run crash he was involved in on November 20th. He faces several charges and is being held without bail due to violating the terms of his early release.

“Clearly this suspect is not interested in following the law. He’s put the public in danger and deserves to go back behind bars,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
