A pedestrian was struck on 7th Street in Victorville a month ago. The accident occurred around 5:10 p.m. on 7th Street south of D Street. The female pedestrian was struck in the roadway by a black Acura sedan.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital with unknown injuries. An airship was requested, but was unable to be deployed due to weather conditions.

The driver and her passenger stayed on scene for the investigation. Neither were injured in the accident. According to the initial investigation, the pedestrian was not using a marked crosswalk when she was struck. Police shut down 7th Street near D Street to conduct the investigation.

Pedestrian safety is the responsibility of both pedestrians and motorists. By not using a crosswalk to cross the street, pedestrians put themselves at unnecessary risk of being struck. Even if you have to walk a little farther to access a crosswalk, that is the only safe and legal way to cross the street. Check out some additional tips for pedestrian safety.

“It might be inconvenient to find a crosswalk to cross the street, but a little extra walking is better than being seriously injured in an accident,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
