Two people were injured in a rollover crash in Palm Springs Wednesday afternoon. The crash occurred on East Palm Canyon Drive around 1:30 p.m. Police say a westbound Dodge pickup crashed into a palm tree and overturned.
The truck’s two occupants were hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries. Westbound Palm Canyon Drive was shut down west of Deep Well Road for an hour during the investigation. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
Auto accidents contribute to 43,000 deaths and 2.9 million people injured every year. Most of these crashes are attributed to driver error. A study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute found that two-thirds of drivers are distracted in the seconds leading up to an accident.
“We’re glad to hear the people involved in this crash did not sustain life-threatening injuries. There are thousands each year who are not so fortunate,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
