Avoid Traffic During Coachella Weekend Two

Coachella weekend two is officially underway, which means traffic delays are imminent. Drivers should avoid I-10 between Beaumont and Indio, as well as I-15 through Fontana. Traffic on these roads will be heavy Friday, and again Sunday afternoon through Monday evening. Also be aware that I-15 at Duncan Canyon in Fontana will close Friday night at 11 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m. Drivers should instead use Route 14 to Route 138 or Route 58. Check here for a more extensive list of road closures during the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

Traffic Backed up Following Early Morning Crash

Earlier Friday morning, traffic was backed up on Highway 60 in Beaumont after a big rig crashed and fell 40 feet over the shoulder. The crash occurred around 3 a.m. off the westbound lanes near Jack Rabbit Trail. Details about the crash are scarce, but the truck and two other vehicles were involved. Police reported minor injuries. Authorities shut down two westbound lanes while they cleared the scene. Lanes reopened around 6 a.m.

“Coachella weekend two traffic has already begun. Remember to stay calm behind the wheel if you have to travel this weekend, and avoid heavy traffic areas if possible,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
