Dog Attack Results in Police Intervention

We all know that dog attacks can be serious business. That being said, many individuals are surprised to learn that the police will quickly get involved in situations where a dog bits a person or a dog attacks another individual’s pet.

Recently, the Palm Springs Police Department has opened an investigation into an alleged situation in which a local Pitbull attacked a Chihuahua last Friday evening in close proximity to Demuth Park . Fortunately, the Pitbull did not attack any adults or children nearby.

After the Pitbull attacked the Chihuahua, it has been reported that the owner of the former did not exchange contact information with the owner of the latter and instead simply left the scene of the incident entirely. Although it may certainly be considered unethical for a pet owner to walk away from another animal that has been attacked by their dog, the police have stated that their interest in the Pitbull owner is not due to pending criminal charges. Instead, the police explained, it is possible that the Pitbull owner simply did not know that their dog had inflicted a wound on the other animal.
