Driver Crashes into Spring Valley Lake House

A driver was injured after he crashed into a house in Spring Valley Lake Thursday afternoon. Police say a man was driving a blue Chevrolet Venture west on Riverview Drive around 3:11 p.m. when the crash occurred. For unknown reasons, the van jumped the curb and crashed into the house.

The van was flipped over on its side when first responders arrived. Firefighters spent 25 minutes freeing the driver from the vehicle. He suffered a head injury and was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.

No one was in the home at the time of the crash. The house did not sustain any major damage. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Just two days earlier, a man was airlifted from Spring Valley Lake after crashing into a parked car. He was seriously injured in the crash. Investigators believe the driver suffered a heart attack behind the wheel, causing him to lose control.
