Mercedes Recalls 750,000 Vehicles

In the latest series of updates regarding automotive recalls, luxury auto manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has announced that they are recalling 750,000 vehicles due to a risk of sunroof detachment. According to the NHTSA, the list of vehicles affected by this recall extends as far back as 2001. and run through 2011. All vehicles involved in the recall are part of the Mercedes Benz C-Class sedans.

The option sunroof which was included in these C-Class vehicles was attached to the body of the automobile using a bonding material that has since been found to be deteriorating. In the worst of scenarios, the sunroof can become detached from the vehicle during use, creating a serious road hazard for other vehicles in close proximity.

Mercedes-Benz has announced that all vehicle owners affected by this recall will be contacted by February 14th with full instructions on how to get their vehicle repaired.
