A trapped hiker was rescued this month from a hillside near 11th and C streets in Victorville. San Bernardino County firefighters hiked a rocky hillside near Kemper Campbell Ranch to rescue the woman. She had allegedly slipped and hit her head and was unable to get out of the canyon.
The firefighters rescued the trapped hiker and transported her out of the canyon in a stokes rescue basket. The rescue took about 30 minutes. The woman was transported to a local hospital for her injuries and she is in stable condition.
Locals often take to the hills and mountains in the area to hike or just go out for a stroll. It’s easy to forget that these beautiful natural elements can also be very dangerous. If you’re going to hike, it’s best to go with a partner. At the very least, you should always have your cell phone handy in case of an emergency.
“We’re glad first responders were able to quickly rescue this woman and we wish her the best in her recovery,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
