Deirdre Murphy Receives WCLG Award

Deirdre Murphy, a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School, has been selected as the official recipient of the “One Class at a Time” award. After being selected by KESQ, Ms. Murphy has received a $500 scholarship which she will invest back into her classroom in order to help improve educational outcomes for her students and enhance the opportunities available to them.

The $500 award, sponsored by Walter Clark Legal Group, is a valuable funding source which will make a huge impact on Murphy’s students. After receiving the scholarship, Ms. Murphy explained that she planned on using the funds to help her students learn more about plant life cycles and composting.

The “One Class at a Time” award is given each month to a deserving teacher in the Coachella Valley region who has demonstrated an outstanding level of professionalism and commitment to their students.
