Intoxicated Pedestrian Sitting in Road Struck in San Bernardino

A pedestrian struck in San Bernardino died from her injuries on Tuesday. Police say 23-year-old Sonora Men was sitting in the road when she was struck by a 2001 Chevy Tahoe heading north on North Lugo Avenue. The accident happened around 2 a.m. in the 1100 block of the road.

Men was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries. According to a witness, Men appeared to be intoxicated prior to the incident. The Chevy driver, 23-year-old Jonathan Romero, will not face any charges, according to San Bernardino police.

If the pedestrian struck in this accident was really intoxicated, she unfortunately put herself in a dangerous situation by walking out on the road. If you decide to go out walking, make sure you follow safe pedestrian habits so you don’t endanger yourself.

“It’s tragic that a pedestrian lost her life in this accident. It’s so important for drivers and pedestrians to adhere to safe behaviors that ensure their safety,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
