Witness Helps Deputies Locate Twentynine Palms Hit-and-Run Suspect

Police arrested a hit-and-run suspect in connection with a crash in Twentynine Palms Friday. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at Twentynine Palms Highway and Indian Cove Road around 5 p.m. They found the vehicle that had been hit, but the driver that caused the crash had fled the scene.

A witness helped deputies locate the vehicle, a truck towing a trailer, parked behind Wal-Mart in Yucca Valley. Police then located the hit-and-run suspect, 45-year-old Shaun Bauer of Twentynine Palms. He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence. Bauer was booked at Morongo Basin Jail.

The victim of the hit-and-run suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
