A driver suffered major head trauma in a hit-and-run crash in Phelan Wednesday morning. Police say the 46-year-old woman was driving her Toyota Corolla west on Phelan Road when she was struck head-on by a white 2016 Dodge Ram. The collision occurred near Johnson Road around 5 a.m. The truck driver fled the scene on foot.
Officials airlifted the Toyota driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center for major head trauma. Police are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect. The suspect is a white male with a slender build, wearing blue jeans and a plaid shirt. Police are not sure which direction he fled.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) closed down westbound Phelan Road for about an hour following the crash. Anyone with information about the crash or the suspect should contact the Victorville CHP at (760) 241-1186.
“We’re praying for the victim’s recovery, and we hope the police are able to catch this suspect quickly,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
