Two people have died as a result of a fatal crash in Victorville Saturday morning. The accident occurred on Hesperia Road just after midnight. A Scion TC and a Chevrolet Suburban were involved in the head-on crash. The driver of the Scion, 28-year-old Kainoa Kahai of Victorville, died at the scene. His passenger, Damian De Nunno, was taken to the hospital for major injuries. De Nunno then passed away from his injuries Sunday morning. The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the hospital for moderate injuries.
According to a witness, the Scion’s driver lost control when navigating a curve in the road. The Scion spun out into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with the Chevrolet. Images of the crash scene show both vehicles were severely damaged.
Police closed down Hesperia Road from Greentree Boulevard to Ottawa Road for several hours following the fatal accident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
