There were two serious motorcycle accidents in the High Desert early this week. In both accidents, the motorcyclists were taken to hospitals for injuries.
The first motorcycle crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday in Apple Valley. A motorcycle and a Nissan sedan collided at the intersection of Ottawa Road and Central Road in Apple Valley. The crash sent the motorcyclist off his bike and onto the dirt shoulder. The motorcyclist was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for his injuries. The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station is investigating the motorcycle accident.
On Tuesday, a motorcyclist rear-ended a stopped Toyota Camry on Ranchero Road in Hesperia, just east of Mariposa Road, around 12:38 p.m. The Camry was stopped due to traffic conditions, according to the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station. The crash impact caused the motorcycle to go off the roadway, ejecting the motorcyclist. Authorities said the motorcyclist suffered a leg injury and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
