A driver was airlifted last month after he was hurt in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Apple Valley. According to the Apple Valley Fire Protection District, the driver was ejected from his Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo at the intersection of Highway 18 and Bear Valley Road around 11 a.m. Authorities say the Jeep rolled over several times. When firefighters arrived, the driver was in the road about 50 feet from the vehicle.

The driver was treated by firefighters, then airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Authorities say he was in critical condition. The vehicle was smoking when first responders arrived, and firefighters stopped it from becoming a full-fledged vehicle fire.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the single-vehicle rollover crash. Rollover crashes are frightening and dangerous, but often they are all too avoidable. Read over these 5 factors that can lead to a rollover crash to make sure you are not engaging in behaviors that might contribute to a rollover crash.
