A Palm Springs driver is in the hospital after suffering injuries in a light pole crash Tuesday. According to Palm Springs police, the driver suffered an unknown medical emergency while driving west on Racquet Club. She then lost control of her van and crashed into the light pole. The accident occurred on West San Rafael Drive near Palm Springs Villas.
The driver sustained minor injuries in the light pole crash. She was taken to the hospital for her injuries and for the medical issue that caused the crash.
Police say the driver’s husky was in the vehicle when she crashed. The dog apparently ran off when the vehicle stopped.
Another Driver Crashes During Medical Emergency
Just last month, a driver crashed into a traffic control box in Thousand Palms after suffering a medical emergency. The driver blacked out, then crashed into the traffic control box. Witnesses say he was driving erratically prior to the crash. Authorities believe this was due to the medical issue he was experiencing.
“Thankfully this driver only suffered minor injuries. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, it is often safer to call 911 and wait for an ambulance to take you to the hospital than to try to drive yourself,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
