Ford Recalls 1.46 Million Ford Focus Vehicles
Ford has issued a recall of 1.46 million Focus vehicles for a fuel tank defect that can cause stalling. The vehicles affected are 2012-2018 Focus cars with 2-liter GDI and 2-liter GTDI engines.
According to the automaker, a defective canister purge valve can become stuck open, causing the fuel tank defect. In some cases, this can cause the vehicle to stall and then fail to restart.
Ford says it does not know of any crashes associated with the fuel tank defect. Until the vehicles have been repaired, Ford is urging owners to keep their fuel tanks at least half full at all times.
