A woman was seriously injured in a Highway 18 crash Friday in Apple Valley. The two-vehicle crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. on Highway 18 and Rimrock Road. The woman was driving a Nissan Sentra west on Highway 18 while a Ford Flex was traveling east. The Ford began making a left turn south onto Rimrock Road when it collided with the oncoming Nissan. The impact sent the Nissan into a light pole across the street.
The Nissan driver was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with major injuries to her legs. The driver of the Ford also suffered leg injuries. He received treatment at St. Joseph Health, St. Mary.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating the accident. They closed eastbound Highway 18 from Tao Road to Rancherias Road until about 3:20 p.m.
“We’re praying the crash victims recover quickly,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
