Thousands of jogging strollers are being recalled for a defect that causes the front wheel to become loose or fall off. Consumers have reported 215 injuries related to the Schwinn and Instep jogging strollers to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), prompting the recall of 215,000 strollers. The injuries include head injuries, bruises, sprains and abrasions, all caused by the front wheel loosening or detaching.
The jogging strollers have been sold online at Amazon, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart and other sites. The full list of affected products can be found on the CPSC website. Anyone who owns one is urged to stop using it until they have received a front wheel repair kit from the manufacturer. Owners can call Pacific Cycle at (877) 564-2261 to request the kit.
“Parents need to make sure they fix this problem before using their strollers again, to ensure the safety of their kids,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
