A man was fatally ejected from his motorcycle in a crash in Hesperia Sunday evening. The motorcycle collided with a sedan at Main Street and Timberlane Avenue around 10 p.m. The motorcyclist, 27-year-old Doug Mann, was traveling west on Main Street when he collided with a Hyundai sedan. The Hyundai driver was attempting to turn left onto northbound Timberlane from eastbound Main Street when the crash occurred.
The crash caused Mann to be ejected from his bike. He was then transported to Desert Valley Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The Hyundai driver sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Police closed down Main Street until about 2 a.m. Monday while they investigated the fatal motorcycle crash. Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the fatal crash. Anyone with information about the crash can contact the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station at (760) 947-1500.
Dangerous Intersection?
The crash that caused Mann to be fatally ejected has drawn attention to a potentially dangerous intersection. Residents living near the crash scene and motorists who frequently drive it have expressed concerns over the speed of drivers and lack of traffic signals. While the speed limit is 45 mph, locals say vehicles travel much faster than that.
“Our condolences go out to the family and friends of this motorcyclist. Please remember to look twice for motorcyclists when driving around these busy intersections,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
