If you have spent anytime in the Palm Desert region recently, you may have noticed an outcropping of exciting and colorful events reflecting the unique cultural diversity of the region. Beginning on September 15th, Palm Desert kicked off the annual Hispanic Heritage Month series of celebrations.
What is so exciting about these celebrations is the extent to which the city has embraced this fabulous opportunity. Businesses and cultural institutions throughout the Palm Desert area are showcasing performances and artwork from local creatives who have responded to this unique mandate.
For example, the Living Desert Zoo is showcasing a wide array of mariachi performers, dancers specializing in Folklorico-style traditions, handmade crafts and more. The Living Desert is also offering a fabulous pricing discount through Hispanic Heritage Month. For each paid adult admission on weekends, one child can receive free admission. The final Gran Fiesta, taking place here on October 12th, is an event not to be missed.
Whether you have spent time exploring the rich Hispanic heritage of the region before, or are looking to delve into this fascinating world for the first time, the Hispanic Heritage Month series of events is highly recommended.
