A woman was critically injured in a Palm Springs crash Saturday night. The two-car crash occurred around 11 p.m. near Gene Autry Trail and Ramon Road. Details about the crash are scarce, but a traffic signal was knocked over and had to be removed by Caltrans.
When first responders arrived, they found an SUV with its engine on fire, and the driver unconscious inside. They pulled the victim from the vehicle. Another woman was trapped inside a Volkswagen Jetta. Firefighters extricated the woman from the car, and she was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her current status has not been reported.
The intersection of Gene Autry Trail and Ramon Road was shut down until 5 a.m. while officers investigated. Police say drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
“We are hoping for a full and speedy recovery for the drivers injured in this crash,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
