A teen pedestrian suffered fatal injuries in Victorville Saturday night. Authorities say 17-year-old Aldo Josue Decena of Victorville ran eastbound across 7th Street when he was struck by an oncoming tow truck. The collision happened around 10 p.m. between Victor Street and Desert Knoll Drive.
The victim received CPR by emergency responders on the scene. An ambulance then rushed Decena to Victor Valley Global Medical Center with major injuries. He passed away from his injuries shortly after.
Teen Pedestrian Ran into Roadway to Escape Fight
A witness says a fight had broken out in the street right before the crash. Decena allegedly ran out across the street fleeing the fight. That’s when he was struck by the tow truck. The driver stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police detained three people at the scene believed to be involved in the fight. They also shut down 7th Street from Victor Street to Desert Knoll Drive to investigate. The investigation is ongoing.
“Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of this young victim,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
