Truck Hauling Ice Cream Crashes Into Big Rig

A collision between a big rig and pickup truck hauling ice cream sent ice cream bars all over the freeway on Thursday. The eastbound pickup truck was hauling three refrigerators full of tasty treats when it crashed into a big rig that was stopped in the right lane around 6:45 a.m.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials say the big rig was stopped behind a semi that had stalled. The two occupants of the truck hauling ice cream were uninjured. The big rig drivers were also unharmed in the crash. The pickup truck driver said he was hauling ice cream to a local school.

The accident backed up traffic for about a mile. Roughly 45 minutes after the big rig crash, a driver struck a different big rig a few yards west of the accident. Neither driver was injured in the second collision. The scene was cleared around noon.

“We’re glad no one was injured in this crash. Situations in which vehicles have to stop do happen, and drivers need to be alert so they can avoid getting into these accidents,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
