Victorville drivers should prepare for a big change from now until mid-July due to the I-15 interchange reconstruction project. The Caltrans project is rerouting traffic at the 1600 block of D Street.
D Street will now have one lane in each direction. The other two lanes will be closed for bridge construction. Traffic signals at the northbound and southbound on- and off-ramps will also be flashing during the reconstruction project, as opposed to operating normally.
Take Alternate Routes during Reconstruction Project
The area will likely see significant traffic delays throughout the reconstruction period. Caltrans is advising motorists to use other routes to avoid the traffic. Alternate roads include E Street, Stoddard Wells Road and 7th Street.
The I-15 reconstruction project that began last year will fix the interchanges at Stoddard Wells Road, D Street and E Street. It will also widen the Mojave River Bridge and replace the Stoddard Wells overcrossing. Ultimately, the goal of the $76 million project is to improve traffic safety and roadway operations.
“We’re glad Caltrans is focusing on making our roads safer for drivers. Of course, these projects mean roads need to be shut down for work to be done, so drivers should seek alternate routes if they want to avoid delays,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
