Two Coachella Valley teachers were the first to receive $500 scholarships each through our One Class At A Time program with KESQ News Channel 3. Mrs. Washak’s 4th-grade class at Mountain Vista Elementary School is using their award for S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) learning projects, and Ms. Tincher’s kindergarten class at Sea View Elementary School in Salton City purchased 6-7 summer reading books each for 74 kinder students. Natalie Calderon at Landau Elementary will use the money for Math Manipulatives or other projects. Carol Acker at Hoover Elementary School is investing in manipulatives for math, too, plus a good reading program.
