I-15 Lanes Closed After Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Truck

A tractor-trailer struck and killed a pedestrian on I-15 Friday. The truck accident occurred in the northbound lanes, south of Dale Evans Parkway in Apple Valley, around 1 p.m. The pedestrian was in the No. 3 lane when he was struck and killed by the semi.

The driver of the tractor-trailer pulled over immediately after the crash and called 911. Deputies then arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. They shut down the No. 2 and No. 3 northbound lanes, then issued a Sig Alert at 1:16 p.m. All lanes reopened by 4 p.m.

The pedestrian’s name has not been released, but authorities say he is a man between 30 and 40 years old. Police are still trying to determine how the pedestrian ended up on the freeway. They are investigating the crash as a possible suicide.

“Our hearts go out to the victim’s loved ones. No matter what the cause of the incident was, this is a tragedy,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
