2 Occupants Escape After Driving Onto Railroad Track

A driver and his passenger escaped injury in an early morning crash in December after they drove onto a railroad track in Hesperia. According to the Hesperia Sheriff’s station, the driver of a 1993 Toyota Camry failed to stop at a stop sign and ended up on the railroad tracks along Santa Fe Avenue and Lime Street.

The driver and his passenger escaped the vehicle before it was struck by an oncoming 8,000-foot BNSF train. The train dragged the Camry a quarter mile before it came to a stop. The train remained stopped until authorities were able to remove the vehicle. It is not clear whether the driver faces any charges for the crash.
